"Having developed over 100 new types of musical instruments, installation artist and experimental musician William Close is most recognized for the largest stringed instrument in the world – The Earth Harp. “It’s an instrument unlike anything Bach or Beethoven could have ever imagined,” writes The New York Times (July 2013). Developed and built by Close, the body of the instrument rests on the stage, while the strings travel over the audience, attaching to the back of the theatre, concert hall and/or festival ground, turning every space into an instrument. Close studied sculpture and sound design at the Art Institute of Chicago.
"Scars On 45 released their self-titled debut in 2012, which landed at #4 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Already a favorite among film and TV music supervisors, the band’s gorgeous melodies, driving instrumentation and boy/girl harmonies caught the attention of VH1 who chose them as a coveted You Oughta Know Artist. They made their national TV debut on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and received media support from the likes of USA Today, People, Entertainment Weekly, Paste, Spin, Billboard and more. Scars On 45 is Danny Bemrose (vocals/guitar), Aimee Driver (vocals), David “Nova” Nowakowski (piano/keyboard) and Chris Durling (drums). Stay tuned for more news on the band’s upcoming full-length release."
"The Newfoundland-based band has been quietly making a name for themselves in their native Canada, having collected a trio of Canadian Folk Music Awards, been named Newfoundland & Labrador Art Council’s Artist of the Year and earned a Juno nomination for best Roots/Traditional album. In the coming year, however, the rest of the world will get to discover the joyous, harmony-rich acoustic music that have made them such favorites in their homeland.
"The band delivers solid, no-nonsense sets full of grizzled pub-rock, gritty power-pop and mod-influenced classic pop, with with a dash of self-effacing humor and humility thrown in for good measure."
- Annie Zaleski, Cleveland Plain Dealer
"Electric ultra-pop… Guitars and keyboards grind in time to the big buzzy heart-bleeding vocals."
Canada's The Trews released their self-titled, Nettwerk debut digitally in April and supported it by heading down from the Great White North for a run of shows in the States. The quartet follows up with a jaunt through the mid-west starting August 10th in Michigan. Two of the shows (Cincinnati & Louisville) are make-ups for postponed gigs when singer Colin McDonald came down with a broncial infection and the band had to cancel their 2nd and 3rd performances ever in 1000+ gigs over 12 years.

Phantom was recorded in Madi’s newly adopted home of Los Angeles, produced by Nick Ruth (Mikky Ekko, Active Child) and mixed by John O’Mahony (Coldplay, Metric, Oh Land) at NYC’s famed Electric Lady Studios. The album’s 11 tracks expand upon Madi’s brand of sophisticated indie pop songs, providing a soundtrack for adventurous escapades on sweaty dance floors with old friends or late night introspective drives under a canopy of stars. Underneath the effervescent pop, her lyrics reveal an emotional through line.
