Wanting's Debut Album 'Everything In The World' Goes Platinum In China In Its First Week!

Vancouver-based, Chinese-born artist Wanting has gone Platinum in China in just one week with her debut album, Everything In The World, which Universal Music China (via a licensing deal with Nettwerk) released on July 5th. Though based in Canada, Wanting has spent the past few years building a rabid online following via Chinese YouTube, and most recently had the song “Drenched” from her debut album prominently featured in the Chinese indie-flick Love In The Buff.

Nettwerk CEO Terry McBride (who also personally manages this rising talent) comments on Wanting’s success in China: “Everything In The World is an album three years in the making. Wanting delivered an authentic and heartfelt album that I believed would not only resonate with her generation, but would also transcend language boundaries and talk to a worldwide audience. It was essential that we had the right partners in China to deliver this album properly, and we found that in Universal Music China.”

Everything In The World was released via Nettwerk Records in North America on April 24, and her unique story quickly caught the attention of the CBC flagship nightly news program The National
