LA-based sextet Run River North will celebrate the February 25th release of their self-titled debut album by headlining the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles on Monday, March 3rd. The band last played and sold-out the venue back in December of 2012, well before they signed with Nettwerk or had a full-length album recorded. Tickets are on-sale now. Following the record release show, the group will head down to Austin, TX for SXSW (showcases TBA).

Starting in April, Run River North will support the Goo Goo Dolls on their acoustic Spring tour, The Otis Midnight Sessions. The tour launches on April 7th in Syracuse and will include stops in Albany, Nashville and Chicago before wrapping up in Green Bay on the 27th (complete list of dates below). The shows will be performed in a “Story Tellers” format and both bands will perform acoustic unless noted otherwise. In the midst of these dates, Run River North will stop in New York City for their own show at the Rockwood Music Hall on Thursday, April 10.

Recorded with renowned record producer Phil Ek (Band Of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, The Shins), Run River North burgeons with richly layered harmonies, dynamic instrumentation and evocative storytelling. The album deals with themes of hope, struggle and identity – a result of all band members coming from families who moved to Southern California from Asia. Musically, there is a subtle overlap of Asian and American folk reflecting the hyphenated existence of the band members.

Run River North is Alex Hwang (lead vocals, guitars), Daniel Chae (vocals, strings), Jennifer Rim (strings), Joe Chun (bass, vocals), John Chong (drums, vocals) and Sally Kang (vocals, keyboards). The band was recently featured on Last Call With Carson Daly, NPR Weekend Edition, PBS Artbound and Lexus: Music Uncovered, a CBS pre-Grammy special exploring Los Angeles hot spots and up and coming bands. They also premiered their first official music video for lead single “Fight To Keep” on TeamCoco, the official website of Conan. Prior to joining Nettwerk and with only a 6-song demo, the band had already garnered a Jimmy Kimmel Live! performance, been shortlisted at Cannes Film Festival, performed at the Grammy Museum for its members and garnered over 1.5 million YouTube views.
