Guster Shares Two New Songs To 5000+ Attendees At 'Guster On The Ocean'; Listen Here

This weekend, Guster leaked two new tracks – “Don’t Go” and “Hard Times” - to 5000+ attendees at their second annual Guster On The Ocean festival in Portland, ME. Their first new music since 2015’s critically beloved LP Evermotion, the tracks are an exciting taste of what’s to come from an upcoming studio album (details TBA). Produced by English musician, composer and producer Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Brian Eno/David Byrne, Belle and Sebastian, Chromatics), “Don’t Go” and “Hard Times” maintain the band’s unique charm while charting new sonic and lyric pathways.

Sonically, the new music showcases what Guster does best – giant choruses with interesting and catchy instrumental hooks. Yet, with this album, the band uses their signature wit and dynamic style to comment on the current social climate and one’s existential insecurities as society charters into new territory.

About Guster:

Guster’s previous album, Evermotion, was released in January 2015 and was produced by the late Richard Swift. It debuted at #1 on the Independent Record Label Current Albums chart, #2 on the Current Alternative Albums chart and #3 on the Top Rock Albums chart the week of release. In support of the album, they spent the last few years on the road including sets at Bonnaroo, Firefly, Summerstage in NYC's Central Park and their own annual festival Guster On The Ocean. Always continuing to push creatively, the band has shared the stage with the Boston Pops, Dallas, Colorado and most recently Vermont Symphony Orchestra.

“[Guster] delivers a new, more mature sound, yet retains a melodic quality and sexy vibe” – KCRW

"The album is called Evermotion, and it’s Guster’s most subtly compelling batch of tunes…a wholly of-the-moment minor masterpiece that should be ranked among 2015’s finest LPs.” - Magnet Magazine

"an indie-pop album that is somehow both Guster's most ragged and experimental release and producer Richard Swift's most polished and radio-friendly effort...the results [of working with Swift] place the group on the crest of the modern psych-pop wave." - Relix Magazine

"The band Guster is the sweetest band of all time!" – Peter Griffin/Family Guy

“dark edge and brooding sense of romance” – Vice NOISEY

“dynamic” – Mashable

“From twin acoustic guitars and bogos to frantic beast and crawling synthesizers” - TIME

"Evermotion is a major step beyond the band's early days" - Yahoo! Music

"The Boston four-piece took a break from their acoustic tendencies for some experimental noise rock on this album." – XPN
