Lily Kershaw Shares New Video Directed By Noël Wells + Fall Tour With Joshua Radin and The Weepies

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Lily Kershaw will join Joshua Radin and The Weepies on their co-headline fall tour presented by SiriusXM’s Coffee House.  The tour launches on Tuesday, October 8th at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA and ends Saturday, November 9th at the James K. Polk Theater in Nashville, TN.  Tickets are on sale now.

With this news comes a new music video for the song “Darker Things,” directed by actress/director Noël Wells (Master of None, SNL), from Lily’s recent Work Tapes EP.  Of the video, Noël says, “When Lily released her EP and I heard ‘Darker Things,’ I fell in love with the song. She told me she had a vision of her walking the streets of Los Angeles with her eyes closed and doll eyes painted on her eyelids, and I thought that it was such an elegant representation of the song. The shoot was a really sweet DIY night. I filmed Lily for about two hours, and her dad was there spotting us because Lily was lip syncing and walking with her actual eyes closed, and I was walking backwards into the streets, anything for the shots…probably a bit dangerous but the intimacy comes through. The most romantic part was at midnight it was my birthday, and Lily drove me to her favorite view of the Hollywood sign to make a wish.”

Lily adds, “It was an absolute pleasure to work with my friend and past collaborator Noël Wells. Her and I made a stop motion music video for my song ‘Another’ with paper cut outs earlier last year. Noël directed, shot, and edited this music video for ‘Darker Things.’ She has such a great eye and is capable of executing pretty much any idea you give her which is a massive gift.”

Last year, Lily released her latest EP, Lost Angeles, which received praise from Refinery29 (“Turn off the lights, and surrender to the pervasive melancholy of Lily Kershaw”), Nylon (“purely raw, authentic, and unfiltered”), Collide (“Lily Kershaw shines a light through darkness on ‘Lost Angeles’” ) and Atwood Magazine (“breathtakingly moving and hauntingly mature”) to name a few.

In song and spirit, Lily is an old soul, but upon initial meeting she's kinetic, ebullient, lively, and kind, quick with a joke and an infectious smile.  Lily is a compulsive creator, she jots down melodies and lyrics as she’s wandering through her days. Born and mostly raised in Los Angeles, she offers an antidote to the long-mythologized Los Angeles glitz; she’s authentic, and honest, self-effacing and, above all, she is herself. Her critically acclaimed debut album, Midnight In The Garden, took root in the titans of folk music…those classic songsmiths who weave tapestries of sound with fingerpicking and tales of often unspoken truths.
