Jon Bryant Releases New EP 'Half Bad' + Shares New Video For "Heart Rate And Dopamine"

Vancouver-based alternative singer-songwriter Jon Bryant shares new EP Half Bad, available now via Nettwerk. Finding himself at a full circle juncture both creatively and personally, Half Bad combines Jon’s formative influences of R&B and folk, while reaching a new level of understanding and empathy, evidenced in his songwriting.

“The EP spans the past decade for me,” explains Jon. “They’re real stories, and all very true to my journey and love life since 2010. There’s a thematic and musical through line. We often look at the worst-case scenario and need to remind ourselves to take the half-good with the half-bad. Life needs balance and we can't appreciate good times without the bad.”

With the Half Bad EP, Jon shares a video for single “Heart Rate and Dopamine,” an emotionally charged six-string melody, punctuated by an impressive vocal display. “I’m detailing how I met my now-wife 10 years ago at a restaurant,” he recalls. “She left her phone in my car. We hadn’t talked for six years, but we reconnected. I was at a symphony, and she called me while Handel’s Messiah was playing. ‘Heartrate and Dopamine’ are chemical reactions that can produce pleasure and I really love how that play on words can describe falling for someone.”
