Old Crow Medicine Show released their fourth full-length studio album, Carry Me Back, on July 17 (ATO Records), to much critical acclaim and to their highest chart position in their recording career. The band just embarked on a tour in support of Carry Me Back, playing shows at capacity in multiple markets; the band will continue touring in the coming weeks. The Lumineers and The Milk Carton Kids will serve as openers for other tour dates. For a full itinerary, see below.
Carry Me Back sold over 17,000 copies in its debut week, landing at #22 on the Billboard Albums Chart, leading to both the band's best ever sales week and their highest ever charting position. The album also was #1 on both the Bluegrass and Folk charts and is the #4 Country album in the nation.
Carry Me Back was produced by Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly). Hutt pushed the band in a whole new way that they hadn't been pushed before.

"Ted Hutt asked us to really dig deep as artists, as songwriters, to get to the heart of the matter of these songs, and especially not to settle for anything less than their greatness," recalls Ketch Secor of the band. Secor is also very proud of the result of the band's songwriting efforts on the album, saying "For me, Carry Me Back is all about the songs, how they line up, intertwine, switch partners, and promenade home. Each of these songs was an accident waiting to happen."
OCMS (Ketch Secor, Critter Fuqua, Kevin Hayes, Morgan Jahnig, Gill Landry, and Chance McCoy) recently began their summer tour of the US in support of Carry Me Back on July 19 in Indianapolis, IN. The tour includes stops at an already sold out New York City's Central Park and the beautiful Fox Theater in Atlanta, amongst others. With most of their time spent on the road, OCMS has made a name for themselves as energetic performers with an unbridled spirit. Indie blog Consequence of Sound wrote of their St. Louis tour stop this past weekend. "The key word for the show was dynamism..."
