2x Platinum Indie Rock Band Vacations Announce NO PLACE LIKE HOME Tour

March 22, 2024 BY Bailey Vigliaturo

Today, two-time platinum-selling Australian band Vacations announce their No Place Like Home USA Tour, kicking off July 24th in Chicago, with stops in DenverPhiladelphiaDCNew YorkSan AntonioLos Angeles, and performances at Pickathon and THING Festivals. Before coming stateside, the band will be playing a slew of dates across the EU/UK in May (including London Calling Festival) and will headline a tour in Australia in July.

The No Place Like Home USA Tour is in support of their latest album, No Place Like Homewhich debuted at #6 on the Spotify US Album Chart and #2 on the NACC (North American College & Community Radio Chart). Lead single “Next Exit” debuted and remains in the Top 10 rotation at SiriusXM Alt Nation and was one of 2023’s top 15 most played songs on SiriusXMU. “Next Exit” has spent 12 weeks and counting on the Mediabase Alternative Chart, peaking at #24. So far in 2024, they have performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘s #Lateshowmemusic series, and on CBS Saturday Morning. The record received praise from SpinRolling Stone, UproxxFloodGrammy.comEsquire, and the band was nominated for Rolling Stone Australia’s Global Award (the only AU award selected by the international Rolling Stone team).

No Place Like Home follows an intense period of transformation for the lead singer Campbell Burns, who was diagnosed with Pure OCD (or “Pure O”), a subtype of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder marked by intrusive, unwanted, and uncontrollable thoughts. His experiences learning to live with this while touring the world informed the record, which also engages in nuanced discussions around personal growth and sexuality.

A DIY affair from the get-go, the band Vacations formed in 2016 primarily as a songwriting vehicle for Campbell Burns, Burns later adding band members Jake JohnsonNate Delizzotti, and Joseph Van Lier.  Their song “Young is certified Gold in Canada, Australia, and Poland, and is certified Platinum in the U.S., and their single “Telephones” is also certified Platinum in the US as of December 2023. The band has racked up over 1.5 billion streams worldwide, an average of 55 million streams/month, including over 675 million streams within the last year and over 2.2m Shazam’s. Not just a streaming band, the group has become known for their raucous live shows, doubling venues from 500 capacity to 2,000+ in under two years. They sold out both of their headline US tours since 2022 and their first ever UK one, mostly sold-out their massive North American fall co-headline tour with Last Dinosaurs that included sold-out dates at Webster Hall and The Novo, and have performed at Austin City Limits, All Things Go FestivalThe Great EscapeAll Points East, and The Sounds Project in Indonesia. They kicked off 2024 with a performance at Laneway Festival in Australia and are confirmed for London Calling Festival, Pickathon, and Thing Festival later this year.

Stay tuned for more to come from Vacations.
