 SXSW Praise:

“SXSW New Favorite Band Alert” - KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic

“Newbies Who Impressed: Boxed In, essentially a vehicle for songwriter-producer-keyboardist Oli Bayston. The songs ranged from crushed ballads to bullet-train rockers with lead bass lines.” - Chicago Tribune

“U.K. rock–groove to enhance those late nights or early mornings in Austin.”
- Hitfix’s “SXSW 2015: Artists To Watch”

Praise From The UK:

“The debut album from Boxed In will enhance your life…Oli Bayston is an impressive songwriter and his piano-pinned dance-pop album carries zero duds.” - NME

“…a beauty, capturing Bayston’s housed-up, lo-fi appeal, which involves locked-in, Hot Chip recalling grooves, world-weary, Bernard Summer-like vocals and simple-as-pie melodies that worm their way into your soul and claim squatters rights. Stunning.”
- Sunday Times “Debut Of The Week”

"Boxed In…hits hard enough in places to get the party started and holds just enough back to make you want to return to it again and again.”
- The Line of Best Fit

“Bayston is a master craftsman. Boxed In is only the beginning.”

Official Video For “Mystery”:

“The song opens with a live drum loop before grand piano chords take the reins; Bayston also adds sparse bass guitar hits and atmospheric sweeps which swell and recede. The instrumentation is rich and the visuals are equally so.”
- Stereogum (Exclusive Video Premiere)

Oli Bayston is a UK-born songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who got his start in indie band Keith and has since collaborated with the likes of 2 Bears, Steve Mason, Willy Mason, Lianne La Havas, Lily Allen and more. Under the Boxed In moniker, Bayston combines his two greatest musical loves, Krautrock and house music, taking inspiration from the motorik rhythms of Can and Neu!, as well as house DJs like Pépé Bradock and Theo Parrish. Boxed In is intellectual without being pretentious, wide-ranging yet accessible and will unite club and indie-rock crowds in a way so few can do.
