The Paper Kites

Melbourne indie folk five-piece The Paper Kites have won over tens of thousands of fans worldwide via their first two EPs – Woodland and Young North. 2013 saw the band release their highly anticipated debut album States, which debuted at #17 on the ARIA Albums chart and #5 on the ARIA Australia Albums chart.  With their sophomore album twelvefour, The Paper Kites craft a delicate yet dynamic album full of color and sound that properly captures the band’s evolution.  The album is a mix of soulful storytelling and smooth synth moments.  Written entirely between midnight and four in the morning, twelvefour is a concept record that explores the theory that an artist’s creative peak lays within these hours.  For two sleepless months lead singer/guitarist Sam Bentley worked, reversing his sleep patterns and penning 30 songs in his home studio. “I got to the end and thought, I'm never doing that again,” Sam laughs.

Collaborating with Los Angeles film-noir artist Gina Higgins on the album's artwork, the band surprised dropped On The Train Ride Home, the first part of a two-part release, with the second album On The Corner Where You Live to be released in later the same year.  On The Train Ride Home is the band’s third album and is the follow up to twelvefour. Having toured across 4 continents, 24 countries and played nearly 200 shows in just under 3 years, The Paper Kites have played to sold-out crowds around the world. With over 300 million overall streams and nearly 3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, the band continues to amass new fans wherever they go
