Boy & Bear To Play Sasquatch Festival; “Southern Sun” Debuts On Triple A Top 30 Radio Chart At #28

"Platinum-selling artists in their native Australia, Boy & Bear look to the West Coast rock classicism of Fleetwood Mac and Jackson Browne on their second album, given a glossy transatlantic sheen by mix engineer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty)."
-- Uncut "Ones To Watch In 2014"

" Folk-touched indie sunshine…" -- Clash

"'Southern Sun' is brimful of gleaming harmonies and sinuous guitar…"
-- The Independent

"California-dreaming stratum of 1970s rock…they've nailed the tequila-sunrise mellowness, which acts as a gateway to an album full of emollient soft rock. It's seductive stuff, pushing all the right wistfulness/optimism buttons and allowing the songs time to flow to a leisurely conclusion." -- The Guardian

In addition to their previously announced North American spring tour, critically-acclaimed Australian band Boy & Bear will return to the U.S. for Sasquatch Festival’s newly added second weekend, July 4-6, alongside such artists as New Order, Röyksopp + Robyn, Broken Bells, Rhye, Local Natives and St. Lucia.

After spending several years abroad, Boy & Bear will make their much-anticipated return to North America this March in support of their recently released album Harlequin Dream. The tour, which will launch in Austin at SXSW (showcases TBA), includes stops in Philadelphia, New York, Boston and Chicago before it wraps in Los Angeles on April 9th at the famed Troubadour. Tickets are on sale now and the full list of dates can be found below.

Harlequin Dream was recorded at Australia's legendary Alberts Studio, produced by Boy & Bear and ARIA-award winner Wayne Connolly and mixed by Seattle-based Phil Ek (Band Of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Built To Spill, The Shins, Father John Misty). The album has received huge amounts of praise and accolades in Australia and now the UK, where the band has already sold out February tour dates. The U.S. is starting to catch up, with the album's lead single "Southern Sun" debuting this week at #28 on the Triple A Top 30 Radio Chart as it gains support from such influential radio stations as Portland’s 101.9 KINK, Boston’s 92.5 The River, and Nashville’s Lightning 100.

In Australia, the album had a steady run at #1, was certified Gold, and received several ARIA Award nominations, including Best Group, Best Rock Album and Producer Of The Year. This follows their award-winning debut LP Moonfire, which won five awards at 2011 ARIAs, including the coveted group and best album prizes for their acclaimed debut – Album Of The Year, Best Group, Breakthrough Album, Breakthrough Single and Best Adult Contemporary Album.

Boy & Bear is Dave Hosking (lead singer/guitars), Killian Gavin (vocals/guitars), Tim Hart (drums, vocals, guitars), Jon Hart (vocals/keys/mandolin) and Dave Symes (bass).
